Funeral of ITBMU's Dean

Here is my original speech during the Funeral of ITBMU's Dean Dr. U Kosalla

Rector !
Pro-rector !
Teachers!
Dhamma Brothers and Sisters !

I, on behalf of Cambodian students, would like to pay our gratitude and deep respect to our great teacher Sayàdaw U kosalla, who passed away recently.

“How do we find the right words to describe our feelings for the large, sweet Soul that has gone? Some of us have lost a father, a grandfather relatives and so on, but today we have all lost a very good Sayàdaw” .

“Sayàda,in his life time, stood as the luminous light in our university, his absence is like the disappearance of the light of the sun and the moon in the world.”

“Sayàdaw was a man of great character, with a very high level of intellect, an honest monk who gave his time freely to all who sought his guidance. To all of us who consider him as our teacher, he was “ one-in-a-thousand ”, and in our lifetime we will never meet his like again”.

Dhamma brohers and sisters!
“Whenever we had a problem, no matter how trivial, or personal in nature, Sayàdaw would take the time to talk with us, solve our problem, and always help us to find a positive outcome. If nothing else, he was always positive in his outlook on life, and he helped all of us to see things in the same kind of way” .
Above all else, Sayàdaw was a monk of great integrity and purity ...a monk whom we loved, ...and a monk whom we will remember forever, we were incredibly fortunate to know and learn from him. Furthermore, we will strive to keep his teaching alive in everything we do and in our hearts from this time onwards.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all teachers and Dhamma friends who give us this auspicious chance to take part in sharing our condolence in the farewell ceremony of Sayàdaw U Kosalla.

May Sayàdaw attain the happy state of existence.
May all of you be well and happy.

Thank you !
