Teacher' s day

I am nominated by University to represent all foreign students to read out the speech on the Teacher' day.
Here is my original speech :
-The most Venerable Rector !
-Pro-Rector !
-Dearest Teachers!
-Dhamma Brothers, Sisters !
-And distinguished guests !
I, on behalf of all foreign students in ITBM University, would like to express our deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to all Teachers in this dedicated and promising day.

Today we, both local and foreign students, are celebrating the Teacher’s day to pay our deepest respect and gratitude to all teachers. Teacher’s day is to be celebrated once a year only but Teachers should deserve daily devotion from all kind-hearted students. We should always respect our Dear teachers. We appreciate their contribution towards our personal goals in life, our community and our nations.

Teachers draw a line in our lives and show us the map to follow. They influence our decisions and lessons learnt from them remain with us the whole life. Teachers break down the barriers and reach into the students' soul. Teachers paint students' minds, guide the thoughts, share the achievements and correct our faults. Teachers impart good education, inspire us to seek our safe path and encourage us to discover our talents.

They don't impact for a year, but for a lifetime. Teacher play very important role in shaping our future life. They open up our young minds, showing us the powers of the intellect and make us able to think by ourselves. Teachers exercise the mental muscles of the students in order to realize the true knowledge in which it will surely lead to happiness and eventually to Nibbàna.

A teacher is like spring season, who nurtures buds and green sprouts, encourages and advices us with clear comprehension whenever we are in doubts.
A teacher is like cool wind in the summer who prevents discontent making studies a pleasure.
A teacher is like sun shine in the winter, while it’s snowing hard outside, he keeps students as comfortable as possible and as warm as a helpful guide would do. Teachers !, you do all these things gratefully and with satisfactory attitude. You’re the Ones for all seasons and you deserve our gratitude.

Thank you teacher for helping us to learn what we need to know, we all will remember you no matter where we are. We make promise to preserve and maintain your teachings throughout our lives and spread it all around in order to promote and propagate the Buddha’s Teaching to all corners of the world.

Finally, in this important day, from the bottom of our hearts, we would like to wish all Sayàdaw, Sayàgi and Sayàma strength , health, wealth, prosperity, and long life for being our shining and guiding stars.

May all of you be healthy and happy !
Thank you !
